Mud in my curls..the video..

So...here's the video of miss thang riding her tiny little 4-wheeler through the mud.

She's telling Billy they're going to have to "wash these 4-wheelers". Look at all the mud..ick.

So..the pageant came and went thank the Lord. Anna did wonderful..she did her cute little walk and had a great time being a princess. The funny thing is that we said she would be Aurora..aka sleeping beauty since she had a pink dress. Ironic since she thinks "sleep is for the weak" huh? Even though she looked beautiful and did wonderful she didn't get in the top ten :( but she was ok..she was a GIRL for a day which made me super happy. :) I loved the answers she gave to the questions..favorite food: asparagus. What I want to be when I grow up: A lunchroom lady. Favorite subject in school: P.E. Her answers were definitely different than the "pizza" & "veterinarian" that a lot of kids gave. I don't think Anna even knows the word Veterinarian. lol. Anyway..here she is in all her glory:

Now is this the typical family picture...me looking at the camera smiling (with my new haircut I might add), Tatum looking crazy, Anna looking cute but not at the camera, and Billy eyes closed. Brother was in his car seat watching all the fun unfold.
Here she is after we changed and got ready to go out to dinner. I kinda wish now I would've put her hair up..oh well there is next year. I didn't put lipstick on her in any of these pics..her lips are always that red. Here are a few pics of brother from this week..he's really starting to smile a lot!

Props to little man for sleeping over 7 hrs last night. He's still sleeping now...I had to get up at 5:00 on the other hand because I was in major pain since he hadn't nursed all night.

I head back to work tomorrow :( I'm sorta sad and kinda looking forward to it all at the same time. While I love being at home with Hudson and catching all those breath taking smiles, I honestly do miss using my brain for things other than nursing and changing poopy diapers. I'll miss getting to run here & there and spending lots of time with my mom. I've really enjoyed the time we've got to spend together since I've been home. I'm super happy my sweet boss (and no I'm not sucking up..I don't think she has the link to my blog) is letting me leave work everyday at 3:30. That will be a *huge* help in the afternoon rush of getting homework, dinner and all that stuff done. Especially that ball season is quickly approaching and I'll have 2 playing this year. So..I'm sure I'll start slacking on the blog since life is about to go into chaos mode for me.

Til next time...

Mud in my curls..

So yesterday I curl Anna's hair right? It was beautiful...I loved the curls. So she, Billy, Tatum & Will go out riding on their 4-wheelers. When she came in I was feeding the baby in my bedroom and didn't see her until after she had her bath when I said "ANNA...why did you wash your beautiful curls out?".

"Because mom...I had mud in my curls"...

I took these before she went out the last time before she got really dirty..

I'll try to upload the video of her mud riding on her 4-wheeler later on..

Now this is one fat baby!

Sweet...but fat! I don't think I've put into words how big my baby is. When people see him they gasp when I say "he's 2 months". Maybe these (and lots of them) will help because I think I finally captured it.
Now..you can call him Michelin man or Budha..he'll answer to either. Well and fat boy as well..lol.Mom..stop..I'm getting sleepy...
and burr it's cold...So..I went and put some jammies on him and out like a light. Now..these pj's are 6 months. I just took the tags off of them and I think they're too small..

Now...miss Anna has a beauty pageant coming up so I've been sponge rolling her hair to figure out which size I need to use. She saw me taking pics and had to jump in..
This was after we took them down...keep in mind that she dressed her self. This is her showing off her curls and waiting for daddy to take her to her nina's house..
after brother woke up she's kissing and snuggling with brother..
which apparently he isn't a fan of..
but likes it better laying on her chest..that was graceful her getting them there.
well..maybe not. Check out the hole in Anna's jeans..happy brother now that he's escaped the hands of Anna...

My big 2 month old baby boy!

So..we went to the dr yesterday for our 2 month check up. I have a big boy! He's 13lbs 11oz and 25 inches long! He's off the charts for his height and at 95% for weight. I'm hoping he's going to be a tall glass of water like his dad!

I've forgotten just how traumatic shots are for a baby. I seriously wanted to punch that chick that was giving him the shots. She was a nice girl and all but she was hurting my baby. It was awful. I'm not sure who cried more..me, Hudson or grandma. We were all pretty upset.

Just so you know..that outfit he's in in the pictures above. It's a 6 months. And it fits!! It's a Bailey Babies outfit I got at Jack and Jill thinking it would be big and he could wear it through the winter to the spring..but no..it fits..perfect.

Til next time....

Glad that's over..

Anna had her 4th set of tubes put in yesterday. She has had chronic ear infections since she was a about 4 months old. Now at 5 her ear problems aren't any better. She'll get a set of tubes, ear infections will stop, she'll hit a growth spurt (last year's was huge at growing 4 inches in one year) ,those tubes will pop right out and ear infections start as soon as cold weather starts. I'm not sure which is worse..your child waking up from a nap with blood coming out of her ear from her ear drum popping from an infection or seeing her on the medication that makes her so sedated she can't talk which is what she gets right before they take her back to surgery. If you know Anna, you know she is a talker. all. the. time. She never stops talking. ever. She talks to herself when she can't find anybody to talk to..or sings..anything to keep that mouth (or pie hole as Billy calls it when he tells her "anna..pie hole..close" which means stop talking) going. As much as I'm always telling her to stop talking you'd think when she couldn't talk I'd be happy but yesterday I wasn't. It was pitiful..she wanted to talk but couldn't quite get the words together to form right. It was so so sad. I always get teary when they come to post op and get her and wheel her down the hall to where I can't see her anymore. I know it's such a simple procedure but it's the putting her to sleep that scares me. I always feel that gush of relief when Dr. Levine walks in and says "I'm done..it went great..she's fine and in recovery".

But now she's good..she can hear again. The tv's weren't turned up to their maximum volume last night so she could hear them thank the Lord! She can hear which means she should be able to hear her teacher tell her to quit talking today at school. :)

I will be glad when inauguration day is over. I'm not too thrilled about it. Bubba from Rick & Bubba said it best yesterday on the radio...having a new president that wasn't your choice being inaugurated is like watching the coach for the winning team give a speech after a football game when the team you were rooting for lost. For me, I turn off the tv at that point because I just don't want to hear it. I really don't want to hear what Obama has to say. Am I thrilled that America is going to have it's first African American president? Sure..but..I'm not thrilled that the most left leaning senator with 146 days of senatoral experience is going to be leading our country..I don't care what race he is. His campaign was all about change...funny how he's been hiring all the same ole people Clinton used for his administration..so what exactly is changing? I haven't heard anybody express excitement over his policies and what he stands for. All I hear excitement about is his skin color. I hope he does a good job. Our country has too much to lose if he doesn't.

Changing subject. Today is Hudson's 2 month doctor's appointment today. We start vaccinations today which brings up a whole other subject. I stayed up half the night reading The Vaccination Book by Dr. Robert Sears. The other half of the night was spent feeding Hudson so there was little sleep sprinkled in between. Anyway...I've decided to have Hudson vaccinated on a alternative schedule and for some reason I'm a little nervous bringing this up to his doctor today. I did already tell her I didn't want to get all 4 shots (would be 5 because he didn't get his HepB vaccination at one month) at one time. I just had this feeling in my gut that it couldn't be good for his tiny body and new immune system. After reading that book I feel better about my decision. Why do we give babies the HepB vaccination at birth? HepB is a STD that can be passed from the mother which is why it is given but I don't have HepB so really for MY newborn and MY infant it isn't necessary. We'll finish up that round of shots after he's 2 when his immune system is a little stronger. So today he'll have 2 shots. DTaP & Rotavirus. I also feel better about my decision to breastfeed. All through this book it talks about how many antibodies he gets from me that will keep him from getting sick. So those sleepless nights are for something other than filling the little pussel gut that never seems to get full.

So..I'm off to get ready..it'll take me the next 2 hours to get us out the door.

Rock the Vote!

So..who does Hudson look like? My vote is me & Tatum but I'll let you vote..on the left of the page you can vote..only once and voting closes January 19th. All of our baby pictures were taken @ 2 months.

Me
Billy
Tatum
Anna

Yeah..we still aren't quite sure where Anna came from. Now she looks like Billy..as a baby..she favored no one. We always joke that had she been kidnapped as a baby and they did a age advanced sketch of her that we would've never found her.

Here's a pic of Hudson from today. I always joke that when he's done nursing he looks like a drunk baby..I caught it today.

and just for giggles a pic of me & madelyn..now you know where I get my need to have my kids match.
Officially today is my last day of my maternity leave. How did that happen so quickly? He'll be 8 weeks tomorrow. I'll be taking a few more weeks 'parental leave' though so you'll get to enjoy my updated blog til then.
