'Dega or bust!

A quick Talladega post! We had lots of fun with Britney & Adam. Talladega. I'm telling you. There's no place on Earth like it!

Now this..this was priceless. Britney had been wanting a corndog every since she spotted them. We (she & I) venture out to get one and this drunk guy waiting in the line @ the crown royal booth stops her and says "you are SO hot. Will you sit right there and let me watch you eat that". Now...that was said in his most slurring voice possible, I hope. I'm still laughing at it!

Softball, dance pictures, Easter & a wedding!

I have to give a disclaimer...I accidentally deleted all of the pictures off of my camera without downloading them at home first..how could I do such a thing!?!?! I'm hoping I have full resolution pics on another computer but I'm not thinking so and I've already formatted my card. :(

OK…this may be one of those never ending blog posts but I have a lot to update.

I’ll start with softball. I have a love/hate relationship with softball season. I love watching both Tatum & Anna in action at their games. I love being their biggest cheerleader from the stands, cheering them on as they run the bases, get an out, or whatever it is their doing. I love watching them be proud of themselves for doing a good job. I *love* it. Anna is one of the younger ones this year so she’s stuck in outfield. It’s so hard for them to not play in the dirt. But she’s loving batting…would bat non stop if they’d let her.
Here are some pictures of the most adorable softball players EVAH!!!

Playing in the dirt..
Always smiling...even when she’s rounding bases.

I hate the schedule...and individually it’s not a bad schedule. With 2 playing ball and doing other things, it’s a totally different ballgame. Like yesterday for example, this was the schedule:

Tatum Cheerleading 3:00-4:30
Anna ballgame 6:00-7:00
Anna dance 6:30-7:30
Tatum game 7:30-9:00

It’s the schedule…it’s grueling. Especially when your allergies are acting up and you want to pull your eyeballs from the sockets and scratch them. I swear I think that would feel better than the rubbing that I’m doing, and probably making it worse, and getting eye makeup all over my hands. AND add to that I’m getting very little sleep. AND it’s been COLD. Where *is* spring? It’s April and the kids are still having to wear their Under Armour to keep from freezing!

Speaking of sleep, I did take a step to better sleep and order The Sleep Easy Solution , the exhausted parent's guide to getting your child to sleep and honestly I want to curse the author out. I mean, I know most of what it’s already telling me. Have a set routine, put the baby to sleep, while still awake, the same way, at the same time every night and it recommends 7:00 being bedtime for a 5 month old. Apparently said author didn’t have 2 older children playing sports considering we probably won’t hit the door tonight til around 9:30-10:00. I guess I’ll wait until softball is over before I start forcing Hudson to sleep/scream through the night. Me = walking zombie these days.

Back to softball (sorry for being so ADD, see lack of sleep above), this will be Tatum’s last year of park ball. Again...happy & sad all at the same time. She’ll be going into the 7th grade next year which means she can try out for Jr. High softball. How exciting (and nerve racking for me!) and I’ll admit I’m glad I won’t be going to the ball park for late night games 2 kids! Then again, how sad. She’s been going to that softball park every spring since she was 6..sniff sniff. How did it go by so fast? My gosh, it just seems like yesterday she was a little bitty thing walking out on that field for her first practice. She walks up to bat and her coach, Jamey Deason, throws her the first pitch where she swings and lets go of the bat and the bat makes the whew whew whew sound as it’s hurling for Jamey’s head. She then proceeds to call Jamey a dork and blame him for the bat incident which made me want to crawl up under the bleachers and die. I’m still reminded to this day of that event. Of course, now that the parents & coaches know Tatum…they know she wasn’t being disrespectful…she was being Tatum. Who knew that during all stars that year she would be PITCHER?!?!? But we’ve made great friends through softball seasons and made lots of memories that I’ll cherish forever. Sniff sniff.

Oh my gosh...seeing the comparison of those pictures made me tear up. Where did my baby go? How did it go by so fast? Three weeks left…that’s it and it’s over : ( and : ) at the same time. I’ll get some TIME back to do much needed stuff around the house (like blog :) ) and with poor Hudson who is just carted from place to place in the mad chaos.

Anna meanwhile had dance pictures. I’m so cracking up that the song Shondra chose was “Born to be Wild”. How fitting is that for Anna? Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of her in her costume. These poses are HER!

Now…onto Easter. We had a great Easter and the Easter bunny left us many sweet treats! I do have to tell you that the night before Easter…after traveling what felt like around the world starting @ 7:30am…I made a mad dash to the mall because I had realized that I hadn’t had Hudson’s picture made with the Easter bunny which is in a couple of posts below. What I failed to post was that I made Tatum & Anna hop (get it..hop..I crack myself UP) in there and get a picture made too. Tatum was mortified and you can see it all over her face!

Anna…that kid cracks me up! She did sit on the Easter bunny’s lap and get a pic made too. When we got in the car the conversation went like this:

Anna: I don’t think that bunny was real. I think it was someone in a costume.

Me: Oh really…what makes you think that?

Anna: Well…when I was sitting on it’s lap...I could hear breathing but I wasn’t feeling breathing on my arm.

How cute is that? She’s one smart cookie I tell ya!

The afternoon of Easter we paid a visit to our cousins Drelynn & Jade. You may remember that me, Randa, & Britney were all pregnant at the same time. Hudson was born Nov 18th, Drelynn one week later Nov 25th, and Jade exactly one month from Hudson December 18th. The babies were so funny with each other. They were all asleep and were woke up to see each other so they weren’t amused. Drelynn seemed to bounce back quicker than Hudson & Jade.
Hudson & Jade:
Hudson: What up girl?
Jade: They woke me up for this?

Hudson..hmm...she's putting this in face for a reason let's taste it and see what it's like. He started sucking on her arm! lol.
Drelynn was the star of the show. This pic is like...sit back you 2 little losers, I'm the star of the show!
Finally…this past weekend we went to Orange Beach and stayed with Adam, Britney, Talan & Jade and Anna (Adam’s mom). We were in town for Brent & Mary’s wedding. Brent & I have known each other since birth and we’ve had lots and lots of fun together over the past few years. I’m so glad he found true love and is happy! Their wedding and reception was absolutely beautiful. This is how far back me & Brent go..this was taken @ my 1st Birthday party. I'm the one sitting in the middle of the table with the dark hair & pink bow. Brent is two kids over to the right, his mom is holding him up. Here we are now at his wedding:
Billy, me & Brent

Brent & his Bride, Mary, walking into the receptionTheir 1st dance...so sweet.
Isn't Mary a BEAUTIFUL Bride? She's tiniest thing I've ever seen. One really cool thing was at the reception they had a photo booth (that I had overheard someone say the father of the bride MADE) and when you came out your pictures printed out twice and they had a paper cutter there and sliced them in half. One half was glued to a scrapbook page where you could write something to the couple and the other half you took home. Little did I know this when we stepped into the booth and this is what is in Brent & Mary's scrapbook.
At first I was mortified at Billy's tongue, then I realized that's him...that's US! So I wrote to the couple to always have FUN! What a great idea! We didn't stay long at the reception because we had to get back to Anna & Hudson that were hanging in the condo with Britney & her mil.

Here are some of my favorites of her & her crew.
Miss Jade and those baby blues...

Britney & Talan on the beach!
Britney, Talan & Anna. I *love* this picture!

and finally...Happy 5 months old my little man!!!!
Happy 4 months old to you Jade!
I can't believe he's already 5 months old...wow it's going by so fast!

Hudson's 1st Easter!!!

We had a busy Easter! We went to church as a family and I'm so happy to report that I actually got a picture of the entire family where we're all looking in the same direction and no one is crying.
Yay!! I'm so happy! Here are some more pics..
