Spring Break 2010

Spring Break started out so lovely...we went to a nice dinner (at McCormick & Schmick's..not my choice seeing as I don't eat seafood..but I want to expose my kids to it..so I agreed) and to The Wizard of Oz! I LOVED the Wizard of OZ..it was SO FUN!!!!! The girls loved it!

and I took this right before I was reprimanded for using a camera in the theatre.
Thank you Lord that Anna still lets me put her in smocked dresses and hand painted Wizard of Oz hairbows, and red cute shoes. I'm going to seriously go into a depression when she says "no more".

Lookie there at Miss Priss Anna...she lost the OTHER front tooth on Friday at school! All while she had the substitute teacher that loves her and is so nice to her...and has the rosiest red cheeks you've ever seen (direct quote!)
Luckily that cheap tooth fairy didn't come back and this one left her $5! :) Isn't she just pretty? She got SUPER excited watching "The Frog and The Princess" this weekend when she saw the blond chick powder her face and put the beauty mark on her face. I've caught her lately trying to use my make up to cover up her mole aka beauty mark on her face. I've tried explaining to her that women try to give themselves beauty marks by putting a fake one on their face with a pencil. Of course, she didn't believe me til she saw the cartoon! Ha!

I've told her so much lately that she's so beautiful..she says it's because she looks like me (yeah RIGHT!) but I play along and tell her we're twins (wink wink).

On Sunday we headed to the beach. This was our view on Sunday in Destin eating lunch
Oh and Mr. Waiter...just know...if Hudson WAS A GIRL. She'd have a bow bigger than her head in her hair..along with a smocked dress. and cute shoes!

If he was a she..she would not be wearing a madras blazer, yellow polo, jeans and saddle shoes. I can promise you that. But I understand. He is pretty (since we're also twins and all).
After outlet shopping in Destin...we hit up some putt putt golf. You see..this was the beginning of the end. Tatum wanted to go to blacklight golf and Anna wanted to hit this golf course. I made the decision to go here because it was a beautiful day and too pretty to be inside for black golf. Who knew it was going to start the "you love her more..you don't love me..you hate me" attitude.
Anna proving that she's a member of the scissor mafia
Here is Anna getting "a hole in two". HA!
We accomplished all of this on Monday!

We also picked up another "little man" outfit for Hudson from "The Children's Place" (that's where those jeans came from Carrie!)
I want to squeeze those toes!!!

On Tuesday, we went back to the putt putt golf course as you could play as much as you wanted in a 24 hr period. So Anna took full advantage of that!
meanwhile, me, Hudson & Tatum stayed in the car..it was a little cool.
Pretty, I know. and back in a mongrammed longall!
at least she is smiling in the middle of the "you love Anna more" attitude. :) We had a lovely lunch at Pineapple Willie's. We went to Margaritaville for dinner...to be told we had an hour & a half wait. AN HOUR AND HALF PEOPLE! We put our name on the list and drove around looking for somewhere else to eat (dang spring breakers..you suck. go home!) and by the time we drove around we decided we might as well go hang out and wait for Margaritaville. So after waiting in the car (with 3 kids I need to remind you) we go in at exactly an hour & a half after we put our name on the list. To be told it would be ANOTHER FORTY MINUTES!!! It was already 8:00 and bedtime is usually 8:30 for our kiddos. I couldn't do it. I couldn't wait another 40 minutes for a table. So we left, went through Taco Bell drive thru and ate at the house. I put my pearls on to eat at Taco Bell!!! HA!

Wednesday, St. Patrick's Day, Billy & I read in the newspaper that St. Andrews is having a "St. Patrick's Day Parade" at 6:00pm. So we plan on taking the kids. After all..Anna LOVES parades! Really..she loves anything that will throw free candy at you. So me & the girls go for a run in the morning..I love running on the beach. As you can see..the weather is lovely. (cold and rainy) Where are all those spring breakers NOW?!?!
We decide on having a late lunch/ early dinner at The Treasure Ship. Where the kids got Pirate Hats!
and Hudson was afraid of the "real pirate" that kept walking around to all the tables. So we took at break outside and walked by the marina.
Much happier being outside (look at that belly!!!)

and look..Anna did catch one picture of me while we were at the beach! So lovely, with the kitchen in the background and all!

I decided I would go with curly hair..if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Especially when you have damp weather!

After we left the restaurant we drive the "azalea trail" and look at the big gorgeous houses on the Gulf and in the historic St. Andrews. We find the restaurant where the parade begins and park 30 minutes early, you know, to get a good space. Being at the parade is all about being in the right spot, so you can get the best candy and all. So, while we're hanging out in front the restaurant we realize they're serving $1 green beers (and we're jealous that we have 3 kids and can't join in). Anna decides that it's a "unkid restaurant". So, we finally get out of the car, bundle up, get our St. Patrick's Day gear that Billy got for us and get ready for the parade.
She's giddy ya'll...despite freezing!
Don't ask me what's up with Tatum's hair...she's a awkward preteen who wouldn't let me adjust her hair. She thought this looked good and didn't want me to touch it!

ANY. WAY. We're waiting. It's 6:00. A drink guy from the parking lot grabs a American flag. Tells someone to pick up another flag that I'm not familiar with and tells the girl playing the bag pipe to follow suit. Then tells everyone in the parking lot to follow along. and that my friends was the parade. I kid you not. Anna was so upset. She yells out "where is the candy? What kind of parade is this? I'll tell you what kind of parade this is..one that SUCKS (so loud)". We're on our way home, me & Billy laughing to the point of tears about this "parade" and Anna says "Ya'll took me to the worst parade EV-ER. I really think I need a cupcake to get over this". HA!!!! Needless to say..she got her cupcake.

Thursday, well..the weather was better. Billy decided to do some lawn work at the house and I decided to take the kids to the beach (alone). Let's just say...Hudson was not a fan of the beach. If you remember, he's not a fan of getting his hands dirty at his first birthday party. He's the same at stuff touching his feet. He held his hands & feet up while screaming "NASTY".
Oh my little boy..aren't you suppose to like to get dirty and stuff?

and here is where it went to hell in hand basket as they say.  The girls had been bickering non stop all week. About every. thing. imaginable. I was so over them and the attitudes. So they're playing on the beach, I'm guarding Hudson from the evil sand, and they were playing with the sand toys. Then an argument breaks out. So, I do my usual separation. One kid on one side of me, I'm the middle line and one on the other. They're playing by themselves, "nasty" boy is just about asleep in my lap and then Tatum's ball goes over the line to Anna. Who isn't willing to give the ball back. So Tatum stomps her sand castle, Anna throws sand in Tatum's eyes (who knew you could throw sand up and still get in her eyes?) and the smack down of Spring Break 2010 goes down in the history books. So bad ,that I gathered myself & Hudson up, proceed to the house where I tell the girls to pack their stuff, I was done listening to them. And we went home!

We were all so much happier when we got home. To our own house, our own beds, and we could spread out and sing to guitar hero (and maybe monogram..a few things) as much as we wanted.

My favorite outfit lately...(don't you love that face?)
I bought shorts just like the pants (from walmart) so hopefully he can wear them all summer. I have tons of shirts to show you, but I'll show you my fav that will match his swim suit.
When I told my parents that we came home early..I heard some chuckles and was told "karma is a bitch huh". I then had flash backs of "the hand" going across the backseat because me & my sisters would fight in the car. You know, my dad driving, and is hand going back & forth across the back seat hoping that it would shut us up. I think I may have some faint memory of that. (wink wink).

Swiper no swiping..

If you've watched Dora the Explorer, Swiper is constantly snatching Dora's things.

Last week, Tatum & I had WWIII over her softball jersey. She swore up and down that I lost it. I swore I had never seen it. The truth is she had no idea where the jersey was and she was tired. She had been practicing cheerleading for 5 hours. This was after she lost her wallet on Saturday. Her cheer jacket on Monday. Saydee's jacket on Tuesday and this was on Wednesday. I had had it with her.

Thursday morning, the morning does not go well. She still can't find her jersey and she has a softball game that afternoon at 4:30. Meanwhile, Anna is going to pieces because she can't find her tennis shoe. The one that helps her run fast and not get out at war ball. My patience was already worn thin, so I send the girls to the car, without the jersey & the shoe to catch the bus. As I walk out the door, Hudson is sitting in his highchair watching us act like crazies. I kiss him on the head and make him promise he won't be a drama queen and won't cause me all this stress. He promises by smiling, cooing and giving me a wink (not really).

About an hour later, I get a call from my mom. Who had found the jersey (PRAISE THE LORD) and Anna's shoe, and the shirt Anna had worn the day before. Along with a ball and a truck in a stainless steel mixing bowl in my kitchen cabinet.

This sweet thing is a swiper!!!!

Don't you love his outfit? I got it at a consignment sale in the fall FOR FIVE DOLLARS!!!! I love church consignment sales.

Speaking of cheerleading. TATUM MADE CHEER SQUAD AGAIN!! Congratulations Tatum! I'm so proud of you!

Meanwhile, this beaut had some loose teeth
She loves making everyone laugh. Silly girl.

She wiggled a bit too much and it fell out. (loose teeth turn my stomach)
(don't look at that crap on my kitchen table, or the miserable dying plant)
This was yesterday morning, hence the milk on her mouth. She was eating her cereal. Telling us about the cheap tooth fairy that only left her THREE dollars! She said for a tooth that big, she was expecting $5!

For fun yesterday, I bought Hudson his first pair of jeans.

He's totally adorable. BUT...OMG he looks SO OLD. Why is it "the norm" to dress baby boys like little men? I mean, we're not throwing baby girls in little black dresses and heels. I totally want to run and put him in a smocked bubble or jon jon. I mean, the time is ticking on how much time I have left to put him in cutesy stuff. Now, go back to being a baby little swiper!

PS, don't look at the bigger pile of crap on my kitchen table. thanks!
